What Are the Benefits of Online Therapy?
About Our Practice
Hi, there! I'm Lia, the founder of Lia Reed Psychotherapy, and I'm the type of person who loves it when my therapist swears. It just seems so human. So, I created a therapy practice where honesty is always welcome. In our sessions, we don't shy away from genuine conversations or authentic expressions of emotion. If you show up to your session feeling nervous, cranky, or angry, you can share that with us - we want to know!

The value we place on honesty and authenticity paves the way for another key value of our practice: collaboration. We believe in empowering our clients to take an active role in their sessions. Rather than dictating the session's topics ourselves, we work alongside our clients to ensure your needs and goals are prioritized. Each session is a synergistic effort, where clients drive the conversation and we provide guidance, insight, skills, and support. This collaborative approach leads to more meaningful and impactful sessions.

I know the process of change can be intimidating, but you know what they say - it starts with a single step! If you're ready, we're here to take it with you.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Where do you offer psychotherapy?

Because we meet with clients virtually, we meet with clients living in Toronto and throughout Ontario.

Q: What would a first appointment look like?

The first appointment will be dedicated to getting to know each other and determining what you want to get out of therapy. If you are feeling a little nervous, we’ll spend some time chatting about your anxiety so that you can start to feel a bit more comfortable. If you’ve met with a therapist before, we’ll take a few minutes to discuss your previous experiences so you can let us know what you did and did not like.

Q: How are your virtual sessions done?

Because we find that we can make more of a connection with our clients when we're able to see each other, we conduct sessions via Zoom, a video conference service that is HIPAA-compliant. Zoom is very simple and allows you to connect through your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Q: What is your session rate?
A 50-minute individual session is $145, and a 50-minute couples therapy session is $175. You do not have to pay HST.

Q: I’m feeling nervous and uncertain about therapy. How can I feel better about it?

It’s completely normal to feel a little unsure about therapy – after all, what it really boils down to is talking to a stranger about some pretty personal things! If you’re feeling uncertain about whether you’re ready to commit, you can book a free 15-minute consultation call to learn more about what to expect in therapy. If you’ve already decided that you’d like to try therapy but are feeling anxious about it, send us an email! We're not only available for clients during sessions, but outside of sessions as well. We're happy to answer any questions that you have and will be glad to provide some reassurance so you can feel a bit more comfortable.
